Homeless Solutions, Inc. (HSI) has been providing solutions to difficult housing issues since we were founded in 1983 as an emergency men’s shelter. With a philosophy of “A Hand Up, not a HandOut”, HSI has earned a reputation as one of the most respected housing organizations in the area. We started by gradually expanding our shelter and social services, then added transitional housing, and finally, included permanent supportive housing with the establishment of our Housing Development (HD) division in 2004.

Our approach recognizes that each municipality has its own unique needs, interests, and concerns regarding homes people can afford. HD can partner with you at the beginning of the development cycle or join in at a later stage to produce housing that is attractive and cost-effective for your town. Our non-profit status reduces project costs, attracts grants and donations, and facilitates government project subsidies.
