The Homeless Solutions philosophy is “A hand up, not a handout”, and for 34 years we have been offering shelter, services, and supportive housing to the homeless and working poor in Morris County, New Jersey.
Each year over 500 dedicated volunteers, share their time and talents with us in support of our Mission and Programs. They prepare dinner, help at events, garden, lead workshops, host Game Nights for our children, and do so much more! They make a difference in the lives of those in need.

Governor Christie Visits Homeless Solutions
Governor Chris Christie and Commissioner of Labor & Workforce Development Aaron Fichtner joined CEO Dan McGuire and Director of Programs & Services Wes Gaynor for a tour of HSI and to speak with the case managers and support staff to hear firsthand about the success of the Certified Drug & Alcohol Counselor Pilot Program.
Thanks to a partnership with Homeless Solutions and the Mental Health Association of Morris County (MHA), County College of Morris, and Rutgers University, a Certified Drug & Alcohol Counselor Pilot Program is in place. It started with a $15,000 Major Grant from Provident Bank Foundation that in turn led to complementary funding from a concerned private donor and Rutgers University. The goal is to certify Case Managers from Homeless Solutions (HSI) and MHA in alcohol and drug addiction counseling.
