DINNER
PREPARATION: 365 days a year, groups and individuals prepare dinner for guests at the
shelter. Besides helping people, they don’t have to do dishes! Bring
your own food or let us supply it; we welcome anyone wanting to join this
very successful program. “Pinch hitters” are especially helpful
to have on our roster when regularly scheduled volunteers are unable to
show.
BAKERS: If you enjoy baking
and making people smile then here is a great opportunity for you. We need
someone to come in once a month to bake some home-made treats for our
guests. We provide the goodies, but if you have a specialty.
LUNCH SERVERS: A good opportunity
for kids who are trying to fill community service hours, come out on Saturday
or Sunday for 1 1⁄2 hours and prepare and serve lunch to our guests.
Bring a friend.
KITCHEN OR PANTRY ORGANIZER: If you like to keep a neat kitchen and pantry, then we need you. Come
in, at your convenience, and organize our kitchen and pantry.
MENTOR: If you know the
community well and you want to help someone get back on the right track,
this just might be your opportunity. This opportunity requires a 1 year
commitment and some training.
LANDSCAPING: If you enjoy
digging up weeds and planting, then here's your opportunity.
FOOD SHOPPING: This is an
opportunity for anyone who likes to buy lots of groceries. You will go
to the food bank of New Jersey with volunteer coordinator and pick up
our monthly supply of groceries.
“READ
TO ME”: If you enjoy reading to little ones, this
is the program for you. You’ll have the chance to spend time with
children in our shelter and Transitional Housing Program. All ages are
welcome.
