Homeless Solutions, Inc. (HSI) has been providing solutions to difficult housing issues since we were founded in 1983 as an emergency men’s shelter.  With a philosophy of “A hand up, not a hand out”, HSI has earned a reputation as one of the most respected housing organizations in the area.  We started by gradually expanding our shelter and social services, then added transitional housing, and finally, included permanent supportive housing with the establishment of our Headquarters Development (HD) division.

Translating Needs into Solutions
Our approach recognizes that each municipality has its own unique needs, interests, and concerns regarding affordable housing.  HD can partner with you at the beginning of the development cycle or join in at a later stage to produce housing that is attractive and cost effective for your town.Our non-profit status reduces project costs, attracts grants and donations, and facilitates government project subsidies.  This translates into savings for your town.

• Because our focus is on the development of affordable units, partnering with us is a less costly alternative to the “builders’ remedy” approach.
• HD stands behind all of our rental projects as owner and property manager.
• For certain projects, we can bring our own equity.
