The Building
In 2006, Homeless Solutions, Inc. purchased this mixed use building on Landing Road in Roxbury Township that was comprised of four two-bedroom apartments as well as commercial office space.  The HD team spent 2007 making interior renovations and exterior improvements, which included adding a new roof, a new high-efficiency heating and hot water system, and a new septic system.   The improvements we made to the apartments were geared to creating more energy efficient and greener units; we replaced old carpet with bamboo flooring, added new energy efficient windows, and purchased new Energy Star rated appliances, water saving toilets, faucets and showerheads.

Tenants
Our current tenants have jobs in the retail sector and find this location to be ideal because there is easy access to the train and the bus lines, and they are also close to highways, shopping, and a recreational lake.  Half of these units are designated for Very Low Income households (those families earning less than 30% of the county median income).
